About E- Reviewers (history)

The concept was developed in July 2006 by me, Daniel Allan, and my friend and co-worker Jay Thomas.   Jay works at a small software company, and I work as a teacher and athletic trainer.   In the summer of 2006 we noticed an explosion in the number of digital products being marketed.  The outlandish promises and unregulated environment caused us to question the legitimacy of the products available, and the validity of the marketing claims.  To test our hypothesis Jay and I purchased two separate “real-estate made easy” business e-books, which both made seemingly outrages claims of unlimited riches to whoever purchased the product.  Not to our surprise one of the books was obviously thrown together and designed just to get our money.  The numerous attempts to return it for a “100% guaranteed refund” went nowhere and we ended up giving up.  However, to our surprise, the second e-book was both informative, and put together in a professional manner.  Following the steps actually allowed Jay to get a better deal on a property he was looking at and which he ending up flipping and making some real money on.  The marketing landing pages for both products were very similar but the delivered product could not have been more different.  After researching the availability of information on these types of products it became apparent that there was little if any.  As more sites come on-line the search engines have trouble keeping up with scams, and the site owners continue to make money on the backs of the consumer.  Jay and I decided that there was a need for an independent review service that could sort the good from the bad.  We have discovered that many of these products are high quality items that are well worth the price and many are not.  Hopefully you find the site worthwhile and we encourage feedback on both the site and products.

All site visitors have free access to helpful advice, e-Ratings, and much more.

E-reviewer’s mission is to work for a fair, just, and safe marketplace for all consumers and to empower consumers to protect themselves. To achieve this mission, we test, inform, and protect. To maintain our independence and impartiality, we accept no outside advertising, no free test samples, and have no agenda other than the interests of consumers. E-Reviewers.com support’s itself through the purchase of reviewed products by its readers through different affiliate programs.  Jay and I stress however that this does not cover even the costs of products and payouts to users, and in no way biases our rankings.  Many of the recommended products don’t even offer an affiliate program.  The inaccuracy of affiliate programs is notorious, and is only used by us to supplement the costs of our pet project.
