Vertical Leap Program Reviews

There are many vertical jumping products out there and separating the good products from the bad is almost impossible.  We put the most popular e-book programs through the ringer and ranked them accordingly.  The products were tested by local athletes from summer 2006 through summer 2008

Can these jump programs really deliver the results they promise?

Our tests show that the answer is yes
. You'll be astounded at what a good jump program can do for a player’s athletic ability and vertical.

Testers: Local athletes ranging in age from 14-18.

The Products

The six programs you will find ranked and reviewed below represent the best that the industry has to offer right now.  We tested several other products, but ultimately found we couldn't recommend them.  The rankings are the result of rigorous testing and careful consideration of all qualities.  The products below are all good, and we are comfortable endorsing all six of them.  In this case, sixth should not be confused with last, as there are several other products that simply did not make it on to the podium.

Rankings Based on the Following Criteria:

Results: While this may seem self explanatory it is more than simply measuring how many inches may have been added to the testers vertical.  The more experienced an athlete the smaller but more impressive gains become.  While it wasn’t possible for us to have the exact same level athlete use each system we did try to similar levels, and factored any differences into our rankings.

Value: The ratio of cost:results we feel is an important factor.  If two programs have similar results but one achieves these results in half the time, and costs half the price then this ranking will be higher.

Content: Does the content of the e-book add value or just bulk?  Are the workouts explained and diagramed well?  Is it presented in a professional manner?  What, if any bonuses are offered, and do they add anything to the program.

Flexibility: Is the program designed so that athletes at different levels having different needs can use the program and still gain results.  Does the program offer multiple training modes?  Can the program be done at home or do you need access to a gym.

Ordering Risk / Guarantee: What possible pitfalls did we encounter while ordering and looking into the guarantees?

Customer Service: Were the e-book authors willing to help with questions, and did they respond in a reasonable matter of time.

Price  $197*

 * TVP is known to change its pricing.  Ranges we have seen are from $197-$349.

Results:  Our testers were three high-school male juniors (2 basketball players, 1 volleyball player) with above average athletic ability.  They each completed the program and all were very impressed with their results.  They gained an average of 10 inches, with one of the testers adding 13 inches, easily the best of all the programs tested.

Content:  The 8-15 week program was filled with 400 pages of rich content.  The Material is presented in a professional manner, and the information contained in the e-book and bonuses are both well diagramed and relevant.  Like all the programs plyometrics is the base but TVP also offers optional pool workouts, cutting edge plyometric routines, isometrics, supplementing information and multiple weight training routines for every level of athlete.  This is a very intensive program, but that should be expected as Luke expects you too put a lot into the program to see the great results he promises.   However users can tailor the program to fit their level of fitness and commitment and still see what can truly be described as flabbergasting results.  If you are serious about adding inches to your vertical leap, and are willing to put in the work, this is definitely the best program on the market.  At first we were skeptical about some of the claims made on the website, however our research shows that Luke Lowry is indeed well-respected in the athletics industry and has worked with many professional athletes competing in a variety of sports.  The Vertical Project has rightfully gained a cult following as it is undoubtedly the best program you can get.  The bottom line is it's expensive, but it works.

Value:    Despite the price, the Value score for “The Vertical Project” is good.  The program is first-rate, and filled with extras, which explains why the price is way beyond the other programs.  While the cost is obviously the main drawback if it is a real problem for you I suggest you go with another product; however, if you can afford it go with this program because it is the most effective, in-depth, documented and results driven of all the programs reviewed.

Flexibility:  Hands down the best.  The workouts are customizable for athletes of different sports and levels, and multiple programs are offered.  One note however, if you are in poor athletic shape you will find that it will take you a while to get to the programs that Luke really believes will add inches.  That said if you play sports at the high school level and up Luke offers multiple programs that will have you seeing dramatic results in only a few weeks.  Although access to a gym will help, it is not necessary.  You can get results without any special facilities.  There are weight training and pool workouts, but these are not absolutely imperative, and are not the core of the program.

Guarantee/Customer Service:  We had no problems with customer service.  Emails were returned within a few days and the suggestions and explanations were helpful.  There is an unbelievable guarantee attached to this product as well.  There is a full return policy for any reason, and also a 6 inch in 60 day guarantee or $100 extra in your pocket.  We suggest you keep a detailed log of your performance as you will need this in order to collect on the $100 guarantee.

Overall:  With all the extras and the results that the testers showed this has to be rated the number one product.  Although it is expensive, this program is worth the money and will give you the big-time results you are looking for.

Introducing the newest programed reviewed by the diligent e-reviewers staff.  We get lots of requests from people asking us to review a program they have heard about, or from authors looking to get their program on our site.  However, because this is a crowded field we generally like to stick with well known programs and/or those that multiple users have requested information on.  Power Vertical by Vertical Leap Training Academy is such a program.  After multiple information requests and numerous flattering testimonials three young athletes affiliated with a staffer agreed to test the program.  E-reviewers put it through the ringer and had no choice but to rank it near the top.

Results: The results were very very good.  The athletes were 3 senior (going into senior year) high school basketball players.  The average gain was 8.5 inches which was the second highest gains seen in our years of testing.  We do feel like this needs to be addressed however.  The 3 athletes who tested this program were all strong, male athletes in peak physical condition (relative to other high school athletes).  While E-reviewers believes that a sample size of three is large enough to decide if a program is of high-quality and will deliver results (though not unequivocally), we do feel that the high level of athleticism of the testers played a role in the results (though we can not say to what degree, and still believe this to be a quality program).

Content: One thing that we have found over the years is that most programs either deliver too much content (with little organization), or not enough (and leave you with more questions than answers).  The programs we reviewed on this page generally have a nice mix of providing you relevant information and multiple training programs, but not so much information that your head is spinning and you give up.  Power Vertical is very much in that mold.  There are programs for athletes of all levels.  It consists 3 main programs (each with their own sport specific component) each 6 weeks in length that can be customized depending on your particular circumstances.  Each of the programs is coupled with a short resistance training routine that is recommended.  Like all of the good programs however there is a body weight only routine for those without access to a gym.  While many of these programs offer similar information there are two main distinguishing factors for Power Vertical.
  1. This is a training regime that is sport specific.  Many of the other programs do not focus on any movements that are particular to the sport you play.  A volleyball player should not always focus on the same things that a football player would.  The nice thing about Power Vertical is that unlike the other programs all of the sport specific programs are included in your purchase.
  2. There is a breakdown of the program for off-season, preseason, and in-season.  We have not found this feature in any of the other programs.

Value: Power Vertical costs $49. By no means do we think this is cheap, but we do think that it offers a relatively good value.  While the price is $10-$15 higher than some other quality programs the value is created because you get every sport specific routine, clipboard training sheets, great email access to the program developers, and a full money back guarantee. For these reasons we feel comfortable recommending Power Vertical at this price point.

Flexibility: There are not as many options in terms of different types of programs as we would like.  Both The Vertical Project and Vertical Jump Bible offer more choice in that area.  However Power Vertical gives you 3 levels of training, sport specific components for 7 different sports, and off-season, preseason, and in-season training programs.  It also offers resistance programs for athletes needing to work on strength training and those needing to focus more on flexibility training.  Depending on what you are looking for this is a highly flexible program.

Guarantee/Customer Service:  There is a full money-back, 8 week guarantee through Clickbank.  It is also refreshing when you email these companies and a real person, or even the program developer emails you back.  We had no issues with customer service emails being returned in time.

Overall:  The athletes training with Power Vertical by Vertical Leap Training Academy were very impressed with the program, and happy with their results.  The staffers at E-reviewers are always pleased with money back guarantees, and good customer service.  Power Vertical offers all of these things and is reasonably priced.  Whats not to like?

#3 Athletes Vertical Resource

Avg Inches Gained

Price $37

Over the past few months we have been swamped with emails from people who either wanted us to review the AVR vertical leap program or who had completed it and told us how well it worked for them. We decided to put it to the test and were very impressed with the results. Because this was reviewed after the original trial our testers are a little different. We used two male high-school junior basketball player and a freshman university female volleyball player. The athletes play at the varsity level and had vertical leaps of 30, 22, and 26 inches respectively.

Results:  While the program and site is laid out a little differently then the other programs we’ve reviewed (explained in content section) the results were top notch.  An average of 8 inches gained, making it the third best in our rankings.

Content:  This is where this program really scores. First and foremost its vertical training program is on par with the best programs in our rankings. Founder Andre Davis has been selling vertical programs online and through the mail for a few years now, and offers you an easy-to-follow, customizable, content-rich vertical training program that also integrates sport specific agility training. The vertical training consists of 3 six week programs designed for each level of athlete (novice to expert), there are 5 levels of training that are used to make up each program. There are 4 types of weight training programs that are used in conjunction with the vertical leap programs. Each is designed for users that either need to add bulk, or speed, or both. There is also a really thorough body weight only program that allows users without gym access to get many of the weight training benefits. The routines focus on plyo and isometrics and are too be preformed twice a week (each workout takes about 45mins). However, what makes this program score higher than the others is that each program is designed specifically to not only help you gain vertical leap but also develop strength and agility that is best suited for your sport. For example if you are a baseball player you develop your vertical in conjunction with swing power and arm strength, or if you are a basket ball player you work more on lateral quickness along with your vertical leap training. There are exercise programs available specifically for basketball, volleyball, football, baseball, soccer and track athletes. The other programs we have reviewed sorely lack sport specific training and we feel this is immensely valuable. There is no question that focusing on your specific sport will make you a much better performer. Just like most things in life, one size does not fit all. AVR also gives you individual workout training sheets so you can track all of your workouts and keep your stats, this is a feature that not every program has but we have been told is very valuable.

Value: At $37 AVR is right in the middle of the programs that we have reviewed. However, it honestly might be the most valuable because you are offered multiple sport specific workouts in conjunction with the vertical leap training. Unlike many of the other programs AVR is presented in a professional easy to follow manner with uniform pictures and explanations depicting every movement. This program undoubtedly gets a high Value ranking.

Flexibility:  This is a difficult question to answer. On one hand there is total flexibility because there are programs designed specifically for athletes of individual sports. These coupled with the vertical programs offer highly flexible sport specific options. However, we do feel that the vertical program on its own is not as flexible in terms of offering different options as the vertical project. That said there are no programs that match the vertical project in flexibility so it is a forgivable sin.

Guarantee/Customer Service:  There is a full money-back, 8 week guarantee through clickbank. Also the author offers a 120% money back guarantee if you do not get the results you are looking for. As far as customer service goes all of our questions and inquires were answered promptly by the author himself.

Overall:  You can not go wrong with this program. Like all the others there are some drawbacks but these are far outweighed by the positives. We can not stress enough the importance of sport specific exercise and this site offers that in abundance. Coupling a vert program with important sport specific exercises, all for only $37 will give you results you are looking for and not break your bank account.

Results:  Our testers were a two high-school junior's and a senior with above average to a high athletic ability.  They each fully completed the program and gained an average of 7 inches (8, 7 and 6 respectively).

Content:  The 16 week program has 150 pages of content. There are weight routines, plyometric routines and combination's of them both.  There are 16 different plyometric programs and a 12 week body weight training program if you don’t have access to a gym.  VJB has a ton of valuable content.  In fact, it might actually have too much information as the actual skeleton of the program can get lost in all the extra material.  The bonus books were relevant and offered valuable insight.  While not quite as intense as TVP the workouts are still time consuming and require 3 days a week of training.  “The Mental Advantage” bonus book is an interesting read.

Value:  The Vertical Jump Bible offers a great value to the consumer.  Loads of facts, advice, multiple programs and a reasonable price make this a top value.

Flexibility:   16 different Plyometric Programs and multiple weight training exercises make this more than a one size fits all e-book.  As your athletic ability increases you will be able to do another level of program and continue to increase gains.  You do not need access to a gym and can perform the everything at home with some open space.

Guarantee/Customer Service:
We had no problems with customer service.  Again, emails were not returned as quickly as they could have been.  The guarantee is for 90 days with full money back.  We have not heard of any issues with this.

Overall:  Right up there in value with any program.  You will not go wrong with this and is well worth the $40.

Results:  While the authors (13 pro level trainers) and system of this vertical program have been around for some time, it is new to the ever evolving world of digitally delivered products.  After receiving numerous requests to review the JumpExperts program and reading the claims on the site it was apparent that we needed to review this product.  Our 3 tester's were a high-school junior volleyball player, and a senior and sophmore basketball player, all with above average athletic ability.  They completed one of the 8 week program and saw very good results, 7 inches was added on average.

Content:  This program is so filled with content all of it can not be listed.  In fact there is so much content that it almost reaches overload status.  There is over 400 pages of programs and info and over 7 hours of MP3’s audio and video to help you understand and conquer all possible obstacles.  There are 5 different 8 week vertical programs that differ in technique (including body weight, weights, isometrics, plyometrics, etc…), a nutritional guide, supplement info, and infinite advice, tips and secrets.  The program is written in conjunction with experts with years of experience at all levels including the NBA and NFL.  Depending on what program you choose you are required to train from two to six times a week and depending on your level of fitness the programs can be difficult.

Value:    At $87 this is the third most expensive of the vertical enhancement e-books.  But has we have come to see, most of the time you get what you pay for.  The program is very well put together and if you have the money you will not be disappointed.

Flexibility:  There is something for every level of athlete.  The 5 different programs offer a training program and technique that 99% of athletes will find helpful.

Guarantee/Customer Service:
There is a full money-back, 8 week guarantee, and our dealings with the author has not seen any issues that are worth reporting.

Overall:  Although this is not a cheap program and it does not have the track record of some of the other programs we feel confident in recommending this program.  The one draw back is the information overload.  I feel that if it was cut it would offer the same benefits but be more user friendly.

Results:  Our testers were a high-school sophomore basketball player, and two senior volleyball players with above average athletic ability.  They each fully completed the program and gained an average of 7 inches.  The sophomore gained 8 inches while the senior's only 6, however the senior had a tremendous vertical from the start and was in near peak condition

Content:  The 8-12 week plyometric program consists of a plyometric exercise routine, advice, explanations, science of jumping and program training guides.  The program can be done without gym access with only some of the sprint exercises needing a large open space.  While the program does not focus on weight training it specifies that strength training plays a role in any sound vertical enhancement program.  Our testers appreciated the easy-to-follow exercise pictures and clear explanations.  They also liked and the overall format and presentation of the program.  GetMaxVertical gives you all the essentials but not much in the way of extras.  It is an excellent entry-level program that delivers results, but users looking for a more robust package (with bonus books, training sheets, etc.) should probably step up and shell out for one of the higher-ranked programs.

Value:  GetMaxVerical offers less in terms of content than the higher-ranked programs, but it also does a better job of giving you the goods without clutter and extraneous information.  And at $24.95 it is the lowest priced product that we tested and is definitely a good buy.

Flexibility:   Although less flexible than some of the others, GetMaxVertical still offers somewhat of an option for different levels of athletes by allowing you to customize the program based on your results and fitness level.  You do not need access to a gym, and most of the program can be completed at home.

Guarantee/Customer Service:
The best of all.  Our emails were promptly returned by the actual program author, and advice was well founded.  There is 100% money back guarantee, and there is even a promise of 8 inches added or $10.

Overall:  A solid program with everything you need but no extras.
